Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and SIREN (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the SIREN app and trysirenapp.com. By using SIREN, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use SIREN.

Who can use SIREN

You must be at least 17 years old and able to form a binding agreement. You can't use SIREN if we've previously banned you, or if you're barred from doing so by law.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google, and you're responsible for activity on your account. Choose a handle that doesn't impersonate anyone or infringe anyone's rights. Tell us at support@trysirenapp.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Your content

You own the signals, reactions, Stacks, Clones and other content you post. To run SIREN, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display and distribute your content within SIREN, including showing public signals to people nearby and letting others React to, Stack on and Clone them as the app allows. This licence ends when you delete the content. If you delete your account without deleting your content, the licence continues for content that remains visible under an anonymized identity. It also continues for copies we must keep for legal or safety reasons.

Only post content you have the right to share. When others Stack on or Clone your public signal, they create new content that may reference yours.

Community rules

Don't use SIREN to post or send:

Sexual content involving minors, or any sexually explicit content.
Threats, harassment, bullying, or content that targets people for who they are.
Violent, graphic or self-harm content, or content that promotes it.
Someone's private information, or images of people shared without their consent.
Spam, scams, impersonation, or content that infringes someone's copyright or trademark.
Anything illegal, or content that encourages illegal activity.

Also don't try to access accounts or data that aren't yours, interfere with how SIREN works, scrape it, or fake your location.

Moderation and enforcement

We use automated screening and human review to keep SIREN safe. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and we may report illegal content to the authorities. If you think we got a decision wrong, email support@trysirenapp.com.

Beta software

SIREN is in beta. Features may change, break, or be removed, and we may limit or end access to the beta at any time. Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee access.

Our service

The SIREN app, name, logo and design belong to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app as these terms allow. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything. Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the App Store or Google Play, wherever you got it.

Ending your use

You can stop using SIREN and delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering SIREN. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as content licences for copies we must keep, disclaimers and limits on liability) survive.

Disclaimers and liability

SIREN is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the service, and we aren't responsible for content other people post. Signals are created by users and may be inaccurate; don't rely on SIREN in an emergency. Contact local emergency services instead.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to SIREN is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past 12 months or USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as SIREN changes. We'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use SIREN after changes take effect means you accept them.
